GPX Island

This track takes you on and off-road on the Ring Road as well as F-roads across and within Iceland. You can find the tour details (track, waypoints, points of interest, campsites) on my YouTube channel, RubiNChill . The trip and the film will be available in 2026 under the title ' Offroad Jeep Island 2026 ! '

Total track length: Approx. 4,431 km

Of which off-road : approx. 2,200 km

Difficulty : Level 3-5 (1 Easy; 5 Difficult)

Recommended days: 14-28 (depending on whether it's the Ring Road only or in combination with F roads)

Recommended time of year : Late June to late September

After payment is received , an email with the download link will be sent automatically . You can then use this link to download the track (GPX, KML), waypoints, POIs (points of interest), and campsites, and start planning your tour.

There are countless apps and websites that can read or import GPX files. I personally use the following software:

On my PC, as well as in the car on my tablet (iPad 4) and on my mobile phone, I use the app 'GaiaGPS.com'. Here you can see all tracks, including off-road routes, which isn't possible with Google Maps, for example. A brilliant platform for all devices. It can also be used offline with offline maps – and you can even record your own journey.

Import instructions: Select only the route and not the overlay. There should be at least 200 waypoints; otherwise, the route may be displayed incompletely.
